Run on over to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.in Anaheim’s Garden Walk Shopping Center for a fun family dining experience. Here is a unique restaurant with a playful, casual atmosphere paired with good ole southern cookin’.

Whether you are coming over from a busy day at Disneyland or walking over from the convention center you will find yourself welcomed in true southern style. “Make yourself at home” is Bubba Gump’s motto. And my family and I did just that. With a large menu of wide variety it was hard to choose where to start. Salads, burger & fries, fish or shrimp? Check out the menu here. The drink menu was fun to scan through as well, as it is posted on a real Ping Pong paddle just like Forrest used in the movie. Lots of drink specials to choose from. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic selections are available. If you are into collection souvenirs; order your drink in one of their logo glasses.

The staff members are amusing and very knowledgeable of their menu items as well as ALL things Gump. They make your dining experience truly memorable.

Our family started our feast with Bubba’s Far Out Dip. “Hot cheesy goodness” is how our 11 year old son described this yummy dish. Spinach, artichokes, red bell pepper and Jack cheese all bubbled together and served with crispy tortilla chips. This appetizer truly wetted our taste buds. For my lunch, I ordered the Shrimper’s Net Catch with Cajun seasonings. These shrimp are served from a metal pot and came with 3/4lbs of “Oh my goodness, finger licking shrimp eating heaven!” Don’t be afraid to get down and dirty with these little “shirmpers”. Dive on in and no one will think the less of you for licking all that Cajun spice off your digits. Grab some extra paper towels from the bucket on the table to clean up afterwards.

Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi was my husband’s pick. 3 large fillets of fresh Mahi Mahi with a delicate flavorful sauce served with a side of Jasmine rice, really hit the spot. The Pomegranate Margarita truly went well with this savory dish. Now, our kids went for true southern shrimp
Mama Blue’s Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp was a feast for our 11 year old. Golden fried shrimp and nice crispy fries topped off with some catsup. Yummy! Shrimper’s Heaven helped my 13 year old daughter explore 4 different styles of shrimp. A great dish for the indecisive. Shrimper’s Heaven is served in a playful shrimp stand with Fried Shrimp, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp and Tempura Shrimp along with dipping sauces. Both shrimp dishes came with a huge pile of crispy French fries.

The feel of this restaurant is light hearted and nostalgic. For everyone in our family has seen the Forrest Gump movie many times. The décor is very southern and quirky. Colorful signs and a nationwide collection of license plates are on every wall. Forrest Gump movie memorabilia is everywhere. My favorite part of our Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. experience is when our server played a round of Forrest Gump Trivia with our table. Prizes were awarded for our answers and the entire family joined in the fun.

Don’t forget to stop by the Gift Shop on the way out. Fantastic Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. merchandise for everyone. And don't forget to get your Garden Walk Parking Stub validated.

Our time at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp Co. was very enjoyable. We left this fun restaurant with full happy tummies and smiles on our faces. Our family then enjoyed a strolled around Anaheim’s Garden Walk shopping center talking about our great Gump adventure.

As Forrest Gump would say…..”…And that’s all I have to say about that.”

You brought back some fond memories of Forrest Gump and reminded me why we enjoyed eating there. Will have to stop there next time in the Disneyland area.
Thank you.
