I’m not a true hipster at heart, but I’ve been told I have enough material to pull the look off, especially whenever I'm wearing anything, gently worn, from Buffalo Exchange. Nestled in a corner of The LAB, surrounded by shops specializing in designer shoes, hats, and vinyl toys, Buffalo Exchange is home to the fashion conscious and a perfect starting ground for those new to tight jeans and plaid button downs. It’s a wonderful store filled with a stunning collection of clothes, for reasonable prices, and is easily my favorite secondhand store.

Buffalo Exchange weaves together the very best of both thrift and designer clothing stores. Despite carrying new clothes, the real appeal is its used clothes. They exist among the racks in all sorts of styles, colors, and sizes, all with potential. A potential to update your current wardrobe or transform it in ways you'd never known. Buffalo Exchange does so by hand picking only the most vogue labels and styles into its selection. Unlike other thrift stores, you’ll never have to spend hours searching through racks of trashy outdated threads hoping for a lucky find. The staff continuously grooms the selection; you could leave and be hip, cool, or rad, depending on the ebb and flow of current trends, but you’re guaranteed to be fashionable. The prices may not be as rock bottom low as typical thrift stores, but Buffalo Exchange is certainly much more reasonably priced than purchasing new designer brand clothes.

What I love most about Buffalo Exchange, is how easy it is for me to buy designer labels or try out new styles without fear. I often view the store as a cross section of modern trends, spanning several styles and clothing lines, returning every few months to scout for new inspirations. It's also fun to just stop in and see what’s coming up as the latest and greatest in the SoCal hipster world. The shopping experience there is unique, one that cultivates a strong desire simply to try on new and unique styles. It creates a current so strong I'm happy to be swept away, trying on fashions I normally wouldn't consider, especially at their typical price. Never have I been able to tell what I'll end up purchasing, but I always leave in good spirits. Even if you're set in your fashion ways, I suggest you give the store a chance. It's easy on your wallet and could expand your wardrobe in ways unforeseen.

Buffalo Exchange is located within The LAB Anti-Mall, located at 2930 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa.

I will have to share this with some of my younger and more stylish friends. Sounds like a perfect store for the times we are in.
