House of Blues Anaheim: A Crossroads for Music, Food, and Art

Anaheim is a major tourist destination for being home to “The Happiest Place on Earth”. But for those looking for something more rough and edgy though no less magical, its next-door neighbor, House of Blues Anaheim is a place that you don’t want to miss. House of Blues is a music-centered venue, hosting a number of fantastic events and musical talent. Now they are rolling out with a new menu by the famous chef…See More

Shen Yun: A Dazzling and Divine Show of Grace and Strength

I first experienced Shen Yun Performing Arts in San Diego in December of 2009. Shen Yun has won worldwide acclaim and the hearts of millions of other spectators - including my own - since its debut in 2006.  Shen Yun brings the rich culture of China to the audience’s doorstep with an honest and approachable show that is not haughty or gimmicky. It is a show that transcends its reputation and spreads its message clearly past any culture or…See More

What’s Your Genre? The Inaugural Anaheim International Film Festival

Anaheim has established itself as a big destination for visitors and locals alike. It is a top location in Orange County known for Disneyland (of course), big conventions, and its share of cultural diversity. With that in mind, The Shops at Anaheim GardenWalk and UltraStar Cinemas was the place to host an international film festival, the…See More

Bio

I'm Phoenix and I'm a first generation Taiwanese-American who grew up dual-everything. Dual-culture, dual-cities, dual-ideals, you name it. The world is my strawberry-kiwi drink. I hail from Irvine, CA though I've also lived across the way in Tustin and I spent my university years in Los Angeles (fight on, Trojans!) as well as four chilly months in France. I love to travel but I also love kicking it back on my own turf. I love a good concert at the House of Blues but I also enjoy the tranquility of the MOCA. I'm quiet until you put a karaoke mic in my hand...while I'm sober. It may seem kind of strange but it's two sides of the same Phoenix to me.

Just as my handle invokes the image of a bird springing back to life from the ashes, I strive to share things with people in a new light and with a twist. I'm here to show you both the grand things and the small things this wonderful area has to offer.

For immediate release: Art is not dead and that there's more places to eat at than just the fast food joint with its seductive neon signs. See inside for more details.
